JANE
AGE 49, Locations: Kingston-upon-Thames/Central London/Mayfield
I’d say I’m an “out-doorsy” type. My happy place is walking my 2 dogs along the river bank.
I like nothing better than going for a bracing walk by the sea or over the cliffs, and stopping for a cosy pub lunch.
I keep fit and active. Cycling is my exercise of choice.
My ideal holiday location would be Cornwall or the vineyards of France. I am very interested in wine and completed a wine-course last year in France.
My last meal would be lobster and chips, washed down with an ice-cold sauvignon blanc.
My desert island luxury would be a camper grill. My top three desert island discs would be Winner Takes It All by Abba, Viva La Vida by Coldplay, Superstition by Stevie Wonder.
I’d say I am more of an introvert than an extrovert (except when I’ve had a few glasses of wine!), but I love good conversation over coffee or a long lunch.
I enjoy intelligent, stimulating conversations, particularly about nature, wine, animals and fitness. I appreciate politeness, enthusiasm and sensitivity in a person.

MARTIN
AGE 60, Locations: London, Richmond
There’s no getting away from it that my work takes up an inordinate amount of my time. But this does not stop me finding time to indulge in life’s small pleasures.
I love all the arts – music (rock to opera), theatre, galleries and books – food and wine (really really love this!) and gardening (I have great cabbages this year). I’m also into sport and fitness (more doing than watching) – I run, cycle and ski and do some yoga (not so much of the chanting).
I am town and country. I love the buzz and energy of London, but also the peace and tranquility of the countryside. I like watching a box set as much as dressing up for a black tie event. It’s all about balance and my mood for me. Whilst it’s fair to say I’m a creature of habit and structure – I also have my spontaneous moments when I’m up for shaking it up. I love a surprise – particularly on my birthday!
As I’m starting to plan the last stage of my career, I’m reflecting on what next? I’m looking forward to more time to travel the world – there is still so much to see and do. I would like to live part of the year in another country and learn a new language – somewhere with beautiful weather and mountains with powder snow!
Oh and just in case you wondered, my last meal would be a steak burger and fries with a bottle of Chateau Lynch-Bages 2000 vintage. Nice!

MICHAEL
AGE 41, Locations: Tottenham, London
I’m a tolerant guy who gets bored quickly. Authentic people, places & things matter to me. Sustainable living. I know what I like and what I don’t.
I love long distance running, skiing, Spurs, Italy, and golden retrievers!
My work as a leadership coach takes me all over the world, and I enjoy travelling and meeting new people. The mountains test me and make me feel alive. But really I’m a home-boy and love a pint.
Any kind of ‘ism’ annoys me. I have a generous heart but can be selfish sometimes, when I am tired or hungry mostly. My work demands me to be intelligent, analytically and emotionally. But I don’t always listen well, especially when I am tired and hungry. Pattern clear? I enjoy challenging conversations with a full debate of the issues. Don’t be too sensitive please.
I admire courage more than any other quality in someone. Trying something new, facing your fear. Integrity is something I just expect. It’s not too much to ask.
Food? Italian. 4 cheese anything. Fresh vegetables grilled. Spicy stuff like Thai red curry. Not shellfish under any circumstances.
Finally, I am in the end an optimist. Whatever happens. With a rich sense of humour.

SOPHIE
AGE 30, Location: Sevenoaks and sometimes Central London.
Job: Advertising
I’ve recently moved to Sevenoaks and would love to explore the local walks with friendly faces – Knole Park is supposed to be beautiful! As well as walking, I enjoy yoga and Pilates and it would be great to have a companion to join me for classes. In fact, if you like any sporting activities that are a bit ‘out-there’, I’d love to join you; axe-throwing has been on the list for a while!
I’m also a keen reader; I’ve joined a few book clubs over the years and have found my niche with the London Girl Bookclub! We discuss anything from classical romance to postmodern feminism. Perhaps you and I could start our own book club and meet up for a walk and a natter….
I would describe myself as a ‘confident introvert’. Although I can seem quiet at first, get me talking about creative pursuits over a glass of Rioja and I’m sure we’ll have a laugh!
Alongside my weakness for Spanish wine, I love a roast beef in a cosy British pub; it would probably be my last meal.
